SIRT training
The goal of the training program is to provide the hospital with skilled technicians who can repair and maintain the surgical instrument inventory. Designed by surgical instrument consultants and manufacturing industry leaders, the program provides a comprehensive, hand-on, technical curriculum. Participants will obtain a solid education in the methodology of surgical instrument refurbishment , sterile processing fundamentals, and supply inventory management. The surgical instrument repair technician (SIRT) program includes technical and clinical educational components. This program provides the skills for level 1-3 repairs on surgical instruments listed in the curriculum.
CSC TRAINING
Sterile processing is a standard program for hospitals in developed countries. Inadequate training of healthcare workers responsible for the sterilization of surgical instruments in low-and middle -income countries compromises the safety of workers and patients alike. Unfortunately, there is no formal certification training to provide technical skills in the sterilization process. SSI will provide formal remote online training to certify local healthcare providers in sterile processing and distribution. The Global Sterile Services Board (GSSB) will be awarding the certification to participants of the CSC program. Certification testing will be done at nearest Prometric testing sites located in the region.
GSSB is an international association representing central sterile services department (CSSD) professionals worldwide. Because CSSD professionals are responsible for cleaning, decontaminating, sterilizing and distributing medical and surgical instrumentation. They are among the most vital contributors to the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. The CSC program will promote patient safety worldwide by raising the level of expertise of central service staff.
